WHOOO’S UP?

To design an experience for healthier behavior, one must know their audience. After many sleepless nights, we decided to create Night Owl—an app and subscription service for college students who stay up late, whether it’s to do work or go out on the town. With this service, users can keep track of their productivity and sleep habits, and see who’s up and out on the town.

Night Owl is meant to encourage college students, who are “night owls” and are 18-24 years old, to improve their sleeping habits and/or keep up their productivity level when working at night by creating an engaging app with a personalized kit.

MARKET RESEARCH

College students being our target market, we decided to ask them questions regarding their sleeping and productivity habits.
  • 82% of students find it hard to focus on work.
  • 76.9% of students say they work best at night.
  • 96% of students go to bed after 11PM.
  • 75% of students experience FOMO.

With this information, we were able to find some underlying similarities between college students’ late-night habits and narrow down the main functions of the mobile application, and those were:
  • They needed to take more breaks.
  • They like to set goals for themselves.
  • They find themselves switching tasks to complete them.

AID KITS FOR YOUR NIGHT IN OR OUT

Users have the option to subscribe to Night Owl kits through the mobile app. Whether they’re staying in or going out (or doing a little bit of both), they can get a fully equipped Night Owl kit shipped right to their front door.

TREAT YOURSELF

Each Night Owl kit is fully customizable with its snacks and goodies. When ordering a Night Owl kit, users are prompted to choose their kit for a night out, night in, or both, and they will be given customizable options to include with their kit.

Night Owl kits can include trail mix, potato chips, peanut butter crackers, hydration packets, chapstick, melatonin, essential oils, and more!
